Entertainmentology 101: It's back to school time, and Symphony Space offers families slogging through New York City’s vast array of entertainment options the ultimate guide to fun. Presenting weekly sketch comedy, puppetry, and high-energy music and dance performances, Just Kidding at Symphony Space presents a high-value, high-energy collection of performing arts programming, specially designed families with children ages 2 and up.
Saturday, October 3 at 11 am and 2 pm: Story Pirates
The Story Pirates, renowned for creating hilarious sketch comedy inspired by children’s narratives, launch the Just Kidding season at Symphony Space on Saturday, October 3rd, with two matinee shows (plus an "After Dark" show for grown-ups that evening). Story Pirates include top talent from comedy hubs such as Upright Citizens Brigade, Second City, the Groundlings (and more), who faithfully bring to life the unfiltered world of kids’ imaginations. When the curtain rises, cats can fly; hot dogs save the world; fried foods battle dairy foods. The characters you’re likely to meet are Captain Waffles, Moneyhead Alan, Snufflepants, and anybody or anything a child can cook up.
