Wow!  Kurios-- What a show!!

I had the opportunity to see Cirque Du Soleil's newest touring show -KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities on opening night under the Big Top at Randall's Island. To say the show was fantastic would be an understatement! Since its debut in 2014, critics have been raving about this show and now I know why. Kurios delivers everything you expect from Cirque Du Soleil and more- an exciting, whimsical, intense, edge-of-your seat performance!

The talent is incredible throughout, with acrobatics, a human trapeze, swinging, flying, and dancing in so many places that you can't even see them all. There were many times in the show that I truly held my breath waiting to see what would happen next. I have seen several performances from Cirque Du Soleil over the years and this was by far my favorite. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were happily entertained.

Spoiler Alert: My favorite part of the show was watching the hilarious antics on the gigantic trampoline! I have never in my life seen someone go so high on a trampoline. With over a dozen people bouncing around, it was both fascinating and hilarious! It was just such a happy, joyful, and lively performance.

We loved every minute of this show and left feeling happier and lighter than when we arrived. It was like being a kid and seeing the circus for the first time. Everyone should feel that joy!

I would highly recommend seeing this show for date night, girls night, or fun with the whole family. It is a thrilling experience, and a night you will never forget! Getting to Randall's Island was easy (it was my first time there), and in addition to the amazing show, the views of the city were gorgeous. Kurios will be running from now through November 27th. Written and directed by Michel Laprise, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities is a tale in which time comes to a complete stop, transporting the audience inside a fantasy world where everything is possible. In this realm set in the latter half of the nineteenth century, reality is quite relative indeed as our perception of it is utterly transformed. The name of the show refers to the humble and strange characters that inhabit the Seeker’s Cabinet of Curiosities.

In an alternate yet familiar past, in a place where wonders abound for those who trust their imagination, a Seeker discovers that in order to glimpse the marvels that lie just below the surface, we must first learn to close our eyes.

In his larger-than-life curio cabinet, the Seeker is convinced that there exists a hidden, invisible world – a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams await. A collection of otherworldly characters suddenly steps into his makeshift mechanical world. When the outlandish, benevolent characters turn his world upside down with a touch of poetry and humor in an attempt to ignite the Seeker’s imagination, his curios jump to life one by one before his very eyes.
