ROAD TRIP: Madame Tussaud's New York

A Review & Family 4 Pack Giveaway!

January 20, 2014
We were given the opportunity to visit Madame Tussauds New York and we were very impressed!!  What we were expecting was a walk through, don't touch, museum style experience.  What we found was a fun, interactive, exciting and unique exploration of fun!   We are so happy to share this with our Macaroni Kid family, and we want your family to experience it too!

Our visit started with a surprise fun ride in a glass elevator, which brought us up to the ninth floor and gave us a spectacular view of the city on our way up.  When we got out, it was like we walked on to a red carpet, with hollywood stars hanging out around the room.  My kids were amazed at the 'Opening Night Party,' it seemed so real and just had such a fun vibe to it.  We walked around, laughing, touching, posing with A-listers like Jennifer Aniston, Bruce Willis, P Diddy, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and more.

Every time we entered a new exhibit, we had that same 'Wow!' feeling.  Each display was so realistic and exciting, with music to accompany every theme.  In the 'Entertainment Newsroom,' my kids were able to practice their reporting skills and pose with many familiar faces.  'The Spirit of New York' was a family favorite, where we were able to sit in a New York taxi cab, climb to the crown of Lady Liberty, walk a bridge in Central Park, and pose in so many iconic NYC scenes.

The fun continued throughout the Gallery, where we were able to take photos with President Obama, meet Albert Einstein, sign the Declaration of Indepence, and more.  This is a great exhibit for kids because they can touch and pretend and explore everything.  It sparked so many imaginative coversations in our family.  Imagine you really were at the landing on the moon?  Imagine you were President?  Imagine you won the gold medal?   Putting yourself in the scene was a lot of fun for all of us.

Madame Tussauds also includes 'Scream,' which looked awesome!  It is a scary themed walk through exhibit, recommended for kids 12 and up, so we didn't try it this time.  But after we posed with Thor and in the grips of the Hulk, we saw the Marvel Superheros 4D movie, which was a blast.  We love a 4D movie, and this one did not disappoint!  The ten minute show was an awesome sensory experience, including sights, sounds, smell, and touch.  A great part of the museum!

There was so much to explore at Madame Tussauds, it really was a great family outing.  No matter what your child is interested in, they will find it at Madame Tussauds!  To help plan your visit, follow Madame Tussauds on twitter @nycwax and 'like' their facebook page.
