This show is definitely for adults only, with a lot of R rated humor. The Elektra Theatre is a perfect venue for 50 Shades!. There is a great energy as soon as you enter the lounge style theater-- a very fun vibe throughout. You can grab a drink at the bar and take some fab photos before the show.
If you read the book '50 Shades of Grey' then you are familiar with the racey subject matter. Only this time around it is funny! The show starts off with three 40something friends getting together at their boring book club. Until one of them suggests reading 50 Shades of Grey for their next meeting.... then everything changes! The show moves back and forth between the book club moms and scenes from the book itself, and I'm not sure which characters are funnier!
While Christian Grey (played by Chris Grace) stole the show with my favorite song of the night "I Don't Make Love" (trust me, it will be your favorite too!), his partner Anastasia Steele was brilliantly played by Amber Petty. Her voice was incredible and her delivery was perfect for this show. Although 50 Shades! the Musical is a parody, the talent is no joke! The singing, dancing, and skill of each of the actors was nothing less than Broadway quality. So many of the songs really brought down the house. It was great to see them in such an intimate venue where every seat in the house is a great one.
A few scenes were definitely ad-libbed to include some quips about the unique audience members that night, which made the show even funnier. This is a perfect place to have a bachelorette party, a special birthday celebration, or any girl's night out. Guys will like the show too-- great for your next date night!
Gather up a few of your friends and take advantage of the ticket packages for 4 or more people. With group tickets at only $49, this is a perfect place to celebrate! The Elektra Theatre is in a great area to walk around, with plenty of nearby restaurants for dinner. With 50 Shades! performing every day except Monday, there are plenty of times to choose from. You can definitely fit one in to your schedule. Don't miss this hilarious, hysterical, laugh out loud show!
