CIRQUE DU SOLEIL presents varekai AT BARCLAYS CENTER in BROOKLYN

Tonight we had the opportunity to see Varekai at Barclays Center. We were not disappointed! Cirque Du Soleil has been performing for 30 years, and Varekai is a phenomenal example of why they have wowed audiences for so long.  With brilliant, beautiful costumes and captivating music, Varekai is a show for everyone.  Families, couples, and friends will enjoy the incredible talent and acrobatics of this amazing troupe of performers.

The costumes were truly gorgeous.  Everything was so incredibly vibrant and beautiful!  I couldn't stop staring at all of the unique and fun designs. Watching them dance, move, and fly through the air was mesmerizing.  And we loved the comic relief throughout the show, especially the hilarious 'singer' who kept chasing the spotlight.  The entire audience was laughing aloud during his skit.

Vakekai is such a great show because it keeps surprising you throughout. One minute we were in awe of the aerial artists, the next minute we were watching incredible acrobats fly through the air, and then suddenly found ourselves laughing at another hilarious performer.  And I won't spoil the surprise, BUT, the finale was amazing!!

I loved the whole performance!  This was my favorite Cirque Du Soleil so far. I love the scale of the stunts, how you could see everything that was going on, the surprises throughout, the costumes, the music, and the beauty, fun, and mystery of it all.  I highly recommend taking your family or friends to this show!  It will be a great experience for all.  And Barclays Center is a beautiful venue-- another wonderful part of this experience!

There are just a few shows left-- don't miss it!

About Varekai

Deep within a forest, at the summit of a volcano, exists an extraordinary world¾a world where something else is possible.  A world called Varekai.

The sky lets go a solitary young man, and the story of Varekai begins.  Parachuted into the shadows of a magical forest, a kaleidoscopic world imbued with fantastical creatures, a young man takes flight in an adventure both absurd and extraordinary.  On this day at the edge of time, in this place of pure and undiluted possibility, begins an inspired incantation to a life rediscovered and to a newly found wonder in the mysteries of the world and the mind.

The word Varekai (pronounced ver·ay·’kie) means “wherever” in the Romany language of the gypsies¾the universal wanderers.  Directed by Dominic Champagne, this production pays tribute to the nomadic soul, to the spirit and art of the circus tradition, and to those who quest with infinite passion along the path that leads to Varekai.

Four shows left!!  Saturday, August 2 at 4:00pm & 7:30pm, Sunday, August 3 at 1:30pm & 5:00pm
