In addition to enhancing physical wellness, yoga has been linked to stress & anxiety reduction, increased ability to focus and concentrate in children with ADD/ADHD, and a decrease in stress-related illnesses and insomnia. Sessions will start in October, meet weekly, and run 10 weeks.

All programs run for 10-week sessions October 2-December 11

Little Lotus Buds (Ages 3-5)
Children will have fun as they explore engaging yoga postures, rhymes and activities. Children delight in practicing yoga, discovering new movements and singing together while improving their listening skills, increasing flexibility, and enhancing their physical, social & emotional awareness.
Thursday 11-11:45am

Kids Yoga (Ages 6-9)
In a non-competitive and nurturing environment, we will explore themes such as peace, respect, peer pressure and acceptance. Learning yoga poses will help cultivate self-esteem and body awareness. Yoga style games enhance cooperation and listening skills while introducing mindfulness practices into kids’ lives. The goal of yoga to develop strong minds and bodies while learning to release tension, focus, and relax, is also a great way for your child to de-stress and unwind after a long school day.
Thursday 4-4:45pm

Pre-Teen Yoga (Ages 10-12)
Classes emphasize stress reducing yoga postures and class discussions on how the yoga practices can be applied to everyday life. Yoga can empower preteens by helping them to create a strong and flexible body and mind, develop a sense of self-awareness and self- acceptance which will help them navigate through life’s “trouble spots”. In addition, practicing yoga increases focus and concentration, and enhances performance in academics, sports and other extracurricular activities.
Thursday 5-5:45pm

Teen Yoga & Mindfulness (Ages 13+)
Gain valuable tools to handle stress, anger, anxiety, depression, and other challenges facing teens. Practice breathing techniques to calm, energize, and balance the nervous system, practice flowing sequences, challenging  poses, partner and group poses, restorative yoga, and deep relaxation. Yoga and mindfulness training have proven effective  in providing youths with self-confidence, focusing their attention, and controlling their emotions and conduct, while engaging in a positive physical and mental activity. Students will develop compassion and self-confidence through yoga and community service activities.
