ABBA WAX FIGURES TO MAKE U.S. DEBUT AT MADAME TUSSAUDS NEW YORK

ABBA, one of the world’s most successful and enduring bands, was established in 1972 with Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The band members worked closely with Madame Tussauds artists in creating their wax figures -- selecting the attire and dictating the look. The figures are dressed in hand-painted, exact replicas of their iconic garb from various 1975 appearances and performances – matching white outfits, bell-bottomed pants and sky high platform boots.

Now celebrating 13 smash hit years and over 5,000 performances on Broadway at The Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44 Street), MAMMA MIA! is one of the most successful musicals of all time anywhere in the world, the ninth longest running show in Broadway history, and one of only 5 musicals to have run for more than 10 years on Broadway. Acclaimed by the Associated Press as "quite simply, a phenomenon" MAMMA MIA! continues its global success having been seen by over 54 million people, in 39 productions in 14 languages in over 400 cities around the world.
