What a blast we had at the new Pole Position Raceway! Thank you to Farmingdale Macaroni Kid for telling us about this great new venue for family fun!
My boys and I had the opportunity to head over to Pole Position to check out their incredible electric race cars. From the moment we entered the facility we were awe struck. The indoor state-of-the art racetrack and cars are amazing! Just watching others take a spin around the track was exciting. But not as exciting as when it was our turn to drive!
After checking in and watching a safety video, we were ready to go. Donned with their flashy helmets and their racer names, my twin boys were first to race the 1/4 mile track. They had a blast weaving in and out throughout the twisting course. I could see them enjoying it more and more as they went through each lap, until finally someone was first to the 10 lap finish line. The course can have up to 6 racers, but for their Junior race today there were 4 people. It was perfect for their first time and lots of fun.
Next was my turn. I have to admit that both of my boys did better than I did! While I have been known to hit the pedal hard in the ol' minivan, in electric carts I am a little less skilled! The kids had a fun time watching me work the course against 3 others. I'm not going to say what place I came in, but I can tell you it wasn't in the top 3. :)
This is a great place to have fun with your family. Parents and teens were there racing together, as well as groups of kids who had come to race their buddies. There were even some adults there to race on their lunch hour! This is a great outing for those 8 and up. My boys loved it so much that my son wants to go back for his birthday next month. I have never seen a place like this before-- it is a great addition to Long Island!
Besides racing, Pole Position Raceway has video games, food, and beautiful party rooms. If you have kids, I highly recommend a visit! It is a great bonding experience for sure.
