New York, NY [December 17, 2014] – Madame Tussauds New York will welcome the wax figure of Katniss Everdeen, protagonist of the worldwide phenomenon, The Hunger Games franchise, to its Times Square attraction. The announcement comes on the heels of the success of the franchise’s latest installment, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. Madame Tussauds will be unveiling the figure on Thursday, December 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Madame Tussauds New York, 234 W. 42nd St (between 7th and 8th Aves).

The New York figure of Katniss Everdeen is inspired by Academy Award® winner Jennifer Lawrence’s defining performance of the character in the first film of the franchise. The figure sports Everdeen’s signature iconic braid and bow and arrow. Her costume is based on the attire she wore into the arena while competing in the first Hunger Games. The figure will be featured in an immersive set in the Film area of the attraction alongside other iconic film characters.
