We had the pleasure of seeing Avenue Q at Soluna Studios this past weekend. The show was fantastic! This was our first time at this wonderful, local theater located in Hauppauge. Soluna Studios is an intimate theater setting, where every seat in the house is a good one. I loved the community feeling of the theater, where the actors were graciously chatting with the audience during intermission and before/after the show.
Although the theater was small, the talent was tremendous! The vocals were incredible, each performer had a fantastic singing voice and owned the stage as they performed. The set was professional and perfect. The cast and crew did an amazing job.
Avenue Q is a 'puppet' show- and the dynamic between the puppet and their handler was so fluid that I found myself really seeing them as one while I watched the show. I have seen dozens of shows in New York City, and Avenue Q left me wondering how I hadn't experienced Soluna Studios before. Why travel all the way to NYC when you can see an amazing show right in your own backyard?
If you have never seen Avenue Q, don't miss it! The show was funny, entertaining, and touched upon many sensitive issues with a satirical light. It was a great night out and I highly recommend seeing the show!
