Lots of lights to see this holiday season

As we begin the holiday season its time to focus on joy, togetherness and beautiful lights. This year on Long Island there are plenty of opportunities to delight your eyes. 

Girl Scouts Of Suffolk County Holiday Light Show

See the dazzling lights, amazing vignettes, and holiday scenes at the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County's Smith Point Light Show. Traverse 1 1/2 miles of dazzling holiday displays, including a new Girl Scout Way. 

Show runs nightly with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Closing time is 9pm Mondays-Thursdays; 10pm on Fridays-Sundays.

Can't get enough? Book a combo ticket that includes access to the Girl Scouts' new Enchanted Forest Walk-Thru at Southaven County Park.

The New York Winter Lantern Festival - Suffolk Winter Lantern Festival

The Suffolk County location of the NYC Winter Lantern Festival takes place at the Smithtown Historical Society.

This is the first show will transform Smithtown into a magical light display featuring flowers, animals, and much more.
November 4 to January 8, 2023. Friday to Sundays 5:30 to 9:30pm.

More than 10 rooms are featured, including the Christmas Cake Walk, the Gingerbread Room, the Christmas Eve Room, and the snow-filled Christmas Forest. Jones Beach Magic of Lights Drive-Thru Show

The Magic of Lights drive-thru spectacular returns to Jones Beach and Nassau County's South Shore this holiday season. The display is stacked with new themed LED lighting displays and digital animations, plus plenty of returning favorites.

Hit up the Toyota Holiday Village for more entertainment, refreshments and more.

The Magic of Lights runs Sunday-Thursday, 5-10pm; Friday and Saturday 5-11pm. Tickets purchased online can be redeemed for any show date.

Shimmering Solstice at Old Westbury Gardens

The show is especially designed for Old Westbury Gardens by Lightswitch, a collective of internationally recognized lighting, media, and visual designers.

The New York Winter Lantern Festival–Nassau Drive-Thru Adventure

The NYC Winter Lantern Festival is returning to New York for the 2022 holiday season and adding a new Long Island location at the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn.

Nassau Drive-Thru Adventure at Nassau County Museum of Art, located at One Museum Dr. in Roslyn is available from October 21 to January 15, 2023. This is the only immersive drive-through experience with illuminated tunnels and Chinese lanterns inspired by outer space. Visitors will move between planets, rockets, astronauts and more.

From October 21 to January 15, hours are Thursdays to Sundays 5 pm to 9 pm. From December 23, 2022, to January 1, 2023, hours are daily from 5-9 pm. $50 plus service fee per vehicle.

LuminoCity Festival at Eisenhower Park

LuminoCity returns to Long Island, this year at Eisenhower Park. The 2022 theme, Pure Magic, is inspired by the traditional art of Chinese lantern festivals, featuring light art displays. 

From Wildlife Safari, Dinosaur Adventures, Magic Kingdom, Alice’s Enchantment, Winter Wonderland, HolidayLAND, and more, this immersive outdoor event covers 17+ acres of Eisenhower Park.

The exhibit runs through early January 2023.
